2010 Middle School Program Information

It is that time of year again and the Middle School Football program will be getting started . I will send out updates throughout the summer and during the season as I receive them .
Conditioning schedule for the MONTH of JULY is as follows: Begining the week of July 12th,
MONDAYS and THURSDAYS 3:00 - 4:30 / Stadium ( these are not mandatory , but will be helpful to your player in preparing them for the season . ) As we approach August there will be more days added and possibly new times .
PHYSICALS / FALL SPORTS PACKET :
You will need to fill out a fall sports packet ( if your son does not have one they can be picked up at the High School Athletic Office ) which will need to be filled out and returned to the High School Athletic office . PHYSICALS MUST be DATED AFTER JUNE 1st .
This needs to be turned in no later than AUGUST 16th.
Also : Please send your sons SHIRT and SHORT size to me asap , the players will be receiving these before the season starts .
The Touchdown Club ( football boosters ) has asked each Middle School player to sell 2 Steeler Nation tickets this year .
I have an envelope with your sons Steeler Nation tickets if you did not receive one at the meeting a few weeks ago. I am going to try and deliver these by the weekend , let me know if you would like to stop by my home to pick yours up or we could meet at the Shop -n- Save , or other arrangements can be made . Also if you would be willing to take a few for a couple of your friends please let me know .
The TC pays for the shirts /shorts , hoagies and drinks for all of the away games , equipment and the financial support to pay for the referees . This year there is the addition of games for the 7th grade team . ( the 7th grade will not be playing on saturdays ,they will have several games of their own this season ) Along with selling the Steeler Nation tickets , we also will be asked to staff the small concession stand . The 50/50 is run by the High School program ,but if they are short staffed we may be asked to help with that as well.
You may have heard that there will be a green team and a white team , I have not heard which color jersey will be 7th or 8th as of yet . The Athletic Department is finalizing the Middle School Schedule ; they are trying to get as many games as possible played back to back on Wednesdays, however one team may play on Wed.,while the other plays on Thursdays.
